Well we lost our number one male B. Cardinal a week ago to unknown causes. His stomach first seemed to swell almost like he was holding but in the gut area instead of throat pouch
We had moved a beta male to the 240 and have tried a couple times to catch him but its all but hopeless.
In the mean time pair number two has started their first holding. I noticed nothing yesterday but the male has a mouth full for sure today
wish us luck!!

I'm bummed to hear about the loss, but I'm glad to see that one of the other pairs are holding. Keep us updated. I have my fingers crossed for you!

typical of a male's first hold; he spit the eggs. Needless to say we are bummed but not shocked
We are going to do a small water change and hope for better luck in 30 days or so when the next batch is ready to be fertilized
keep your fingers crossed for us

Well that's a bummer, hopefully he has it out of his system for next time though.
Is the last pair whose male ended up spitting about ready to be holding again?

The first pair that held is the male we lost. We have a spare male but he is in the 240 and its all but impossible to get him out.
I have thought about just buying another

Hey Scott, That would help us out a ton. I am sure that the kids could try for a week without a chance of catching that one.

Those Cards in my 125 that we spent hours trying to catch 1, I've been using a net to feed them so now they are associating the net with feeding and litterally swim into the Net.
I also have a beta male who I have no Idea how he is still alive after 5 months of being in my overflow without food. He's been missing for 5 months and I thought he was dead. I got him out and put him in my biocube and I've been trying to feed him and get him back up to par.
