I know, I know, OT's mostly marine, and he's getting out of the fresh business... but wow these are beautiful!

I stopped over there today to check a coral piece out for my friend Kimberly, and to bring Buk the 10g tank I've been meaning to bring him for months.  I noticed immediately a tank full of gorgeous black, black/violet and black/silver/goldish guppies that had those lovely full tails I like so much.

I came home with several of them, and would have brought home more if I had had enough cash with me.  Did I mention that they are GORGEOUS?

I've been jonesing for black guppies since seeing pix of Gene's lovely Black Moscows(I think that's the right name?), and felt like a kid at Christmas seeing these that Buk's got in.  I was one of those "I want THAT one right THERE" and "Oooh!  What about THAT one!" people picking them out.

Anyhow-- he still has a bunch left, so any of you are looking for some out of the ordinary guppies, go check them out before it is too late.

I've got to get my camera working-- these are some of the prettiest guppies I have ever seen.

Mary I've got a mind like a steel....Ohh! Shiny! ::::wanders off::::

I did see a few that were nearly all black. Sort of creepy looking at a fish that is almost completely black. Like a swimming Tootsie Roll.

HEE!  That giggled me.

I so completely love them!  My black emperor tetras too-- they look like swimming velvet.  Some of the gups and some the emperors have the goldish and the violet highlights.  I'm going to have to fish the other guppies out of that tank and give them to someone else so I don't get the color diluted right away with any offspring.

I'm also considering devoting a 10g to them, with that tahitian moon sand-- that might be very striking. OR it might backfire and youwouldn't notice the fish against the black.  Hmmm....

If you do go with the Tahitian Moon sand, let us know how you like it. Always wanted to try it myself.
