just a few seconds ago I was feeding my oscar in my 75 gallon and I saw little jumping things on the surface of the water!! how did they get their, can they hurt me or my fish how do I get rid of them PLEASE HELP

I dont know what they are but they are very small and jumping on the surface

Do they kind of look like fleas?
If so, I had them in one of my 10g tanks before. After a week or so they disappeared. Fish probably snacked on them!

was this it, or was it one of those black beatles that zoom around. if it was a black beatle, get it out of the tank, they have a venom that paralyzes small animals

Springtails!! A small insect that is highly dependent upon humidity. They call them spring tails because they have a small "tail" that folds under their body and they use it as a spring to jump.

I had springtails once, in one of my planted tanks. They disappeared after a few days.

yeah they sound like springtails, and sorry I think they are to small and fast to get a pic that would help. But their seems to be more of them every time Iook in my tank. So does any one no how to get rid of them for good?

i dont think they're a problem, though they are kind mean looking, water changes and hungry fish would be the way to get rid of them though
