Donor Program Introduction

The idea of the library program is to generate a pool of knowledge based books to have them available to TRAC members, whether they are long standing members or those relatively new to the club. A book enters this program when a club member has a book which they are willing to share.

A thread is then started in this forum for that book. The first post will give the book name and author, describe the book, and when and how it should be returned.  Those who enter the donor book into the program will put their name(s) under a HAVE list. Those that are interested in recieving a book will then reply and add their name to the WANT list. Also, when adding yourself to the list, include first your TRAC handle and then your real name. If your handle IS your real name, feel free to only list it once.

This book is then distributed to those interested in having it.

Donor Program Thread Template

The thread should start with the word DONOR. For example, if I have a book Sand Bed Secrets that I can share, the title would be "DONOR: Sand Bed Secrets by Dr. Ron Shimek". Below is an exampple of the thread contents, please copy this template and change the details as appropriate for your frag.

quote:
DONOR: Sand Bed Secrets by Dr. Ron Shimek

I have Sand Bed Secrets by Dr. Ron Shimek. If you wish to be a sponsor....reply to this list. The first preson will get the book until our next meeting. The next people on the list will receive the book at the following meeting it is due back.

HAVE:
Aquatic Aquaman (Scott Cline)
And then following posts might be as follows:
quote:
HAVE:
Aquatic Aquaman (Scott Cline)

WANT:
FishE (Corey Troyan)
AnnArborBuck (Doug Roth)

Uncomfortable and hopefully unnecessary subnote:

This program will work much on the honor system. That is, when you recieve a book, you are verbally contracting to take good care of it and bring it back when it is due. Neither I, nor anyone else will play the role of Donor or Sponsor police. However, if someone does not follow their end of the deal, that may restrict their future participation in the program.

Thanks for the warm comments.  I definetly need to get around to updating the library with more books as I've picked up quite a few in the last couple of months.

I still think I actually have a few of my books lent out.  I need to find out who still has them and see if they can bring them to the next meeting.
