Hey all, I put this here because I'm doing live plants(soil/sand substrate).  Some of you may recall my lovely green gravel?  It's gone now.  Here's a before picture:

Here's an after pic.  At this stage the tank had had water in it for about 2 hours.  I'll be adding a biggish piece of lace rock when I put the fish back in, but for now it's providing a hiding place for the 20+ fry I found when I took the fish out.  My plants got decimated-- some didn't handle the transitkin well- in rinsing off the duckweed I think I tore some of the leaves.  Others got eaten and I think I just plain need better light in that tank to get the plants growing well.  But anyhow, here's the first pic after the re-scape.

Yup.  I never knew you could have a freshwater tank without one.  Way back 20 years ago when Igot my first tank, I was told you needed one, and never thought to question it.  I love that I don't need to have those tubes anymore!  I used to try to hide them with plants and rocks and stuff, lol.

I may do a cichlid tank with my 29gal eventually-- not sure what substrate I will use for them, as many of them like to dig, so am hanging on to the undergravel from that tank just in case.

I use somthing I got from the home depot I think its called river rock.  Its a larger diameter than regular aquarium gravel and they cant dig in it as well untill they get much bigger.

Re-size them smaller and save them as .jpgs.  I think the biggest I use to post is like 50KB

I re-size mine for TRAC, too.  About 500x500 give or take.  Try it.  Will make a HUGE difference!
