I would hate to imagine that someone would just dump it instead of donating it but unfortunatly it happens.

I think that happens more than any of us would like to admit.  snake heads, culpera, peacock bass, lionfish, on and on.

Some people on other boards have claimed the shark SWAM to Lake Michigan......

Just sounds like a hobbyist had the shark and it got too big so he dumped it, or the shark just died. Sort of hard to flush a shark. Guess he could have ate him (very small bowl of shark fin soup?). Not that I'd advise anyone to eat anything out of an aquarium.

Although.....might be better than eating fish from the rivers!

Don't even get me started on the animals people just turn loose and the problems it causes, for both animals and habitats where they get released!!!

This is SO one of my soap-box issues.

That's horrible if someone dumped it.  Who would be smart enough to keep it alive in a tank, but stupid and careless enough to dump it in freshwater?  I'm sure that there are some people like that out there, but most of us are better than that.  The lousy people ruin things for the responsible pet owners.
