so you all know im breeding bettas and it has been about a week. ok so they breed today, and at first the male could get the females eggs out. i had to go to my grandpas so i seperated them, i put them together again at like 10ish. he finnily got it, but didnt even pay attention to the eggs so the female took care of them (putting them in the nest and kinda cleaning them) later on when theres like 50 eggs in the nest, he finilly sees an egg so hes goes up to it and eats it!!! then he sees them in the nest and EATS ALL OF THEM TOO!!!!!!!!im so mad.....so im going to put her back in the tank tomorrow after shes down recovering and put her in her jar so the male can rebuild his nest (i killed it)and put them together once hes done and this time i think i will let her take care of the eggs and nest.... any tips or sugestions

Sometimes with angelfish they take several tries before they get things "right". That's a possibility.

The other possibility is that the natural breeding instinct has been bred out of them by too much commercial breeding. Or it's just a bad male. Or the conditions just aren't right.

I've heard it can take a while for them to get it right.  Congratulate yourself on getting the first half sucessfully - you got eggs and neither fish got killed!  I'd let them rest and recuperate and try again. 

I'm surprised that the female took care of the eggs.  That's awesome!

okay i got another male now because my mom thought he was cute and i talked her into it so that makes 3 males and 2 females but one females is to old to breed now shes not making eggs anymore so i only have one good female (really good)i will get pics if you want
