Anything it wants!

Seriously, they eat pretty much everything they can get their claws on.  Most of them will eat their tankmates, so Rocky is best kept by itself.  Mine like any kind of sinking commercial food.  Also dead fish and zuchini are favorites.  They fight over Hikari algae wafers.  I'm going to try cucumbers, too.  They are omnivores, so I try to feed a variety of foods.  Some of them are hard on plants.   Mine don't seem to be, but I'm a terrible overfeeder.

They are like tough fish with legs and claws.  They're easy to keep.  That reminds me, make sure the lid on Rocky's tank is secure!  They can go long distances out of water.  I put rocks on my tank lids and HOB filter tops.  Mine get wanderlust sometimes, they'll move to a different aquarium if I give 'em the chance.

They don't like their water too soft, they need minerals to make their exoskeletons.  When Rocky moults, leave it in the tank, he'll eat it and recycle it for next time.  They moult a lot when they are small, and rarely when adult.  They are more fun when they're young, they are more active.  Just like people that way.

I think mine is older, its pretty good size i would say 3 or 4 inches from tip of claws to tip of tail. I did notice he really really liked the Aqueon Bottom Feeder Tablets, he grabbed it as soon as it landed and didn't stop eating till it was gone!

Ya hes not real active, he seems to like to just sit in the corner munching i swear he hasn't stopped eating since i put him in the tank about 3 hours ago!!! I Guess he is just hungry!

I am hoping he does molt being wild caught he shell is kinda fuzzy looking and Dingy looking, im hoping for a nice clean shell soon!

If he keeps eating, he'll molt for sure!  At that size, it's an adult.

Do you have any snails?  They eat stuff off my crayfish.  They could clean him up.  Or provide him with supper, either way it's a win for Rocky!

The crayfish will likely eat the baby snails, sometimes they will eat the adult ramshorns, too.  I believe the MTS adult's shells are too hard.

Yes, some burrow.  Some species more than others.  They all like to explore.  I'd keep looking around the house.  It could live for hours out of water.  If you find it, unless it's crispy, put it back in the water and see if it revives.

Todd told me a hilarious story about his dog barking at a rat that turned out to be a crayfish covered with dog hair.

im hoping it just burrowed into the sand and dirt, and didn't get out!

If you don't have a cover on the tank, it's not "if" it got out, but "when".
