I have a bredding pair of convict ciclids and about 50 or 60 babies that need a home. I do not want the babies to go as feeders, if you need feeders just ask i will buy you some! The big daddy is named Kenny, i got Kenny second hand, i did not name him. Kenny and his girlfriend and the babies are free to a good home. Don't really want to give them to the local pet shop. How big is kenny, what size tank do you have him in and how big are the babies?  Hard to tell from the pic.  Are they to go all together or will you split them up.  Jimbo

yea i see the pic is not very good, sorry about that. everybody says that Kenny is the biggest convict they have ever seen! he is a big boy, i would say about 5 or 6 inches. mommy is about 2 inches. the babies are still less than 1/2 inch but you can see there stripes and they feed well also. Yes i will split them up, kenny and momma should stay together i think. i will try another pic.

I wish I had room for Kenny and the mom.  I do have room for a few of the babies.  I have a 50 gal that already has some cichlids in it but I can partition off a portion for the babies until they get bigger.  I have had that happen with some of my pics on here too.  They show clear then blurry after upload.  Again, I wish I could take kenny and fam (he looks awesome) but I only have room for a few fry.  Let me know if the babies are old enough to travel or if they need some more time.  My email is freightshaker007@buckeye-express.com

oh my goodness...... the pet store was going to put Kenny and girlfrined ( or is it wife?) and babies in a ciclid tank! the babies would have been eaten! so i brought the babies home..... anybody want some free baby convict ciclids? call me

how big of a tank would one need? how big do they get? they are fresh water(just checking)?

mom was about 2 inches long and Kenny was about 5! they where happy and breeding in a 55 gallon. they are still small enough to be eaten by other ciclids.

p.s. yup freshwater, acutally ciclids prefer a little bit brackish

to keep cons they should have at least a 30g minimum. i'm sure some will disagree but that's my opinion. i've had females up to 5" and males up to 7" in the past so keep that in mind.
