So I walked into work at 7am yesterday morning (police station), and am greeted by a beautiful 3-4 month old pup. I guess one of the officers stopped at a stop sign, and heard a thud on the top of the car, and opened the window to find this pup looking down at her from the roof of the car! No kidding, they took a picture! So anyways, she looks to be part pit and Lucas county has some breed specific legislation, where you can only own one pit in a household, it has to be fixed by 6 months of age, and it has to be leashed & muzzled at all times off your property. Pits are also not allowed to be adopted out, so therefore every pit that is taken to the dog warden if euthanized if an owner doesn't claim them within 3 days. Sometimes the dog warden doesn't even give them 3 days. Even the 3 day old puppies that are seized in a drug raid are put down!

So I couldn't take her to the dog warden, and being the sucker that I am, I brought her home with me. I've been talking with a local rescue, where I adopted my boxer mix from, and they can't take her because of the pit laws, but if I can foster her for them, they will fix her and help me find a good home for her. She is very sweet, although she is kind of a diva. She was wearing a collar, but it didn't have any tags on it. She knows how to sit and her nails look like they have been clipped recently, so I think she is someones pet. I contacted all of the local shelters & vets, and also put a found ad in the paper.

So here she is. She still needs a name, I can't think of anything that fits her.

I think you found a name that fits her.  Call her "Diva".  Just a thought.

I think she looks a little great dane too, but I can see alot of things in her.  She looked at me yesterday, and I saw german shepherd ears!  I think she's a Heinz 57.

im thinking we need a Vet Opinion on this one cause no matter how hard i look im am just not seeing pit bull in this dog, if i had to guess i would say lab, dane and Shar pai but i just dont see the pit, and trust me i am a HUGE pit lover!

Easy way to tell feel around her Jowl area at the base of her jaw if she has pit in her there should feel like a "hook" where the jaw can lock. No hook thing no pit.
