I just picked up a new carpet anemia yesterday and within 12 hours he has devoured both of my cardinals.     *&###***      He may be leaving the tank as quickly as he arrived!!!

I see I misspelled "TROUBLE" but can't change it now

Did you get a Haddonis or Gigantae? Haddonis have shorter tentacles while the Gigantaes have longer tentacles. Gigantae's are a bit harder to keep as well.

Sorry to hear about the Cardinals. Those carpets have a whicked sting!

Edit: Here's a good link for some of their needs, ID, etc. www.wetwebmedia.com/carpetanemones.htm

I want a blue carpet but a healthy one is harder and harder to find. Poor shipping practices is a big cause.

Check under "Son of Harry" post for a photo, it's the last pic on the post. Short tentacles. I paid $22.00 yesterday for it. It is about 6-8 inches across

If my brother-in-law doesn't want to buy it you have first dibs.

Turns out he only got one Cardinal, but he had a hold of something this morning and I didn't see the second Cardinal I just can't figure out what he ate.

Sounds like it might be a Haddoni then, which is good. They are the hardier (if not the hardiest) of the carpets.

Where did you get it at? $22 is a great price even though he isn't fully colored. Time, light, food!

I'm with Burks, I'd like to someday get a blue carpet. I used to have a brown one with VERY large cinamon clowns. He never ate anything he shouldn't have but I fed him every other day.

A red one would be even better but a healthy one goes for $500+. No thanks! Blue is fine.

You can get "pink" carpets but they're bleached and rarely does a healthy one come in. Most places like Live Aquaria snag those up.

I found this guy at Pet Supplies Plus on Sun afternoon. It may be that it wasn't feed enough while it was there. I feed it some when I put it in the tank, maybe it was just an appetizer for it and wasn't enough to fill him up. Here a several pics I just took tonight after feeding it a full jumbo shrimp.
