So what is your favorite algae eating fish? Doesn't matter the type of algae I guess, anything works. What has worked for you in the past? What hasn't?

I'm looking at adding an algae eating fish to my frag tank but not sure what I want exactly. Starting to get this sort of slimey, but not cyano, bacteria. Cross between slime and hair I guess. I have a phosphate pad coming to get rid of my mistake (added tap water....).

Plus I need a fish to enjoy!

depending on how big your tank is, a tang or a lawnmower blennie is the only thing that munches the algae on a regular basis.  Nudibranches would do a good job of eliminating  that kind of algae.  The only bad thing is they dont live long in captivity.  A pincushion urchin may pick at it also.

Man I love this hobby.

Tank is only 48"x36"x16".

I like Lawnmower Blennies. They look pretty cool.

i like my mimic tang for my algae. she eats alot of it off and then saves some for later haha. sometimes i catch her with a piece of algae hanging from her mouth haha.
