Hey all Im bored to death and don't know if this has been done here before, i love to cook and i love cooking things i haven't made before so lets do a Recipe Swap! Just Post your Favorite Recipe OR Recipes Any type, style Etc See not leaving you Vegans out! Post as many as you like! Make sure to include Good instructions, pretend the person its for has never cooked a Single thing. I will start.

Meat Balls

2 Lb Ground beef,Steak,Lamb,Pork,Or Turkey(what ever you like best)
1 Bag Boil in bag Rice
2 tablespoons Italian Seasoning
2 Cans Tomato Sauce
2 Or more bags(depends on how much you want) Cheddar Cheese(or your fav shredded cheese)
Cabbage(optional)

Instructions:

Cook Boil in bag rice according to box
If using cabbage Boil it till completely cooked.
In a large bowl Mix ground meat,Cooked rice(cool it first), and Italian Seasoning.
In a large baking pan Layer bottom of pan with cooked cabbage, Form meat mixture into Large Balls about fist sized. Cover Fist sized Balls with Tomato Sauce and top with Cheese. Cover With Tin Foil(keeps cheese from burning) Bake in over on 350 for 1 hour. Its a Meal in it self i never serve a side with it but thats up to you.

Vance's Easy Awesome Pork.

1 or 2 Packages Pork, Any type works, ribs, chops, tenderloin Pick your fav cut of pork.

2 cans Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
2 soup cans Milk

Instructions:

In a Bowl Mix the Soup,Soy sauce, and milk till completely smooth (can be done in blender to make it easier)

Put pork in baking dish or dutch oven, Pour Soup Mix over pork and Bake at 350 for an hour to an hour and a half. Serve with your favorite side i normally serve with home made mashed potatoes.

Goulash

2 Lbs Ground meat(i use beef)
1 box Elbow Pasta(or any Pasta you have on hand i have made with Spaghetti)
2 Large Cans Tomato Juice
2 cups Brown Sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Brown meat in a Frying pan and Drain Well.
Boil pasta till Almost Done
In a large Pan Mix cooked meat,Pasta,Tomato Juice, and Brown Sugar.
Bring to a Boil then reduce heat and Simmer for 10 to 15 mins.
Serve with buttered bread or rolls if you like.

Vance's Fry ya mouth chili(won me a blue ribbon at the county fair in high school) Once the judges stopped crying from how spicy it was that is lol I love HOT SPICY food!

Warning VERY VERY HOT AND SPICY!

2 lbs Ground Beef(again any ground meat will work)
3 cans Tomato Juice

2 cans Kidney Beans
4 tablespoons Chili Powder
2 heaping tablespoons Cheyenne pepper
10 jalapeno peppers
3 Habanaro Peppers
4 large Banana peppers
1/4 cup Tabasco Sauce(or other pepper sauce)
1 Large Sweet Onion
2 cans Diced Tomato's
1/2 cup Brown Sugar(optional if you like sweeter chili add it)

Instructions:Brown your Ground meat in a frying pan and Drain Well.

In a Blender Combine the Following:2 heaping tablespoons Cheyenne pepper
10 jalapeno peppers,3 Habanaro Peppers,4 large Banana peppers,1/4 cup Tabasco Sauce(or other pepper sauce) and 1 Large Sweet Onion(remove Stems but NOT SEEDS from Peppers, and cut into chunks, Cut Onion into 4 chunks. Make sure to remove papery skin from onion lol),Chili Powder, Add Enough tomato Juice to cover and Almost Fill blender. Blend on highest speed till liquid.(if you don't have a blender Skip this step and instead Dice all pepper and onion)

In a Large Pot Combine Meat,Remaining tomato Juice from 2 cans(keep one back), Liquid from blender,Kidney beans,Diced tomatoes, and brown sugar (If using it)

This next part is VERY VERY VERY important. So follow instructions here Very carefully!!!
Bring to a Boil for 3 mins ONLY then turn down to Between Medium and low, and Slow Simmer covered for 4 to 5 hours Stirring every 10 to 15 mins(add Tomato juice from reserved can to replace evaporation) its very important to keep temp low enough that it doesn't burn.
IMHO fast chili is Bad Chili!!!!

ok there is my three Favorites! You guys and gals turn!

This is a fun idea for a thread!

I'm going to try that rib recipe soon!  I have ribs in the freezer that i have no idea how to cook, and this looks easy.

Here's my fave thing to do with tomatoes:

I use the beefsteak tomatoes I grow myself(well, I didn't this year)- they are very meaty and sweet tasting- you'd think I put sugar on them.

Slice them into thick slaps, brush some bsalmic vinagrette on with a BBQ or basting brush(I used bsalmic vinagrette salad dressing on mine), sprinkle some fresh thyme on to taste, and a bit of parmesan cheese.  Put in the broiler JUST long enough to warm them up.

Tastes like something you'd get in a restaurant.

My brother suggested this for sage(I have beautiful sage in my garden, huge leaves):

wash the leaves lightly in whipped egg(with just a touch of water), dip in bread crumbs, fry in olive oil.  He said it's like eating sage french fries.  I haven't tried it yet- waiting for the sage to come back from when I cut it all for him.

Mary I've got a mind like a steel....Ohh! Shiny! ::::wanders off::::

Sounds good! yes all my recipes are insanely easy! I can cook the fancy stuff i took home ec. 1,2,3,4 and Creative Cooking 1 and 2 in High School. And i learned long ago it doesn't have to be fancy to taste AWESOME! My chili came about because i had a friend who was half Mexican and Said i couldn't make anything Hot enough to phase him. After 3 bites he said with tears running down his face and i Quote " All right you win now get me the D**N milk." It didn't phase me, i love spicy!

I'm a heat WUS.  I dated a Texan for a while who made wonderful chili, but he'd have to make a separate batch for my sissy-self.  He also was horrified at the suggestion of putting beans in chili.

I'm a big one for using the herbs I grow in my cooking.  I use some right out of the garden, some I dry(some I use either way). Some herbs I bought because they smelled marvelous, or were on clearance-- then I looked up ways to cook with them.

One of my all time favs to make when we be up to the cabin......you can smell it all through out the woods!!!!!

Possum Pie

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 egg whites
  • 30 butter crackers, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons flaked coconut

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold in crackers, vanilla, sugar and nuts.
  3. Spread evenly into 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Cool completely.
  4. Spread whipped topping over pie, then sprinkle with coconut.

I like to toast the coconut after I put it on top, just watch it close!!!!!

There is something to be said for knowing someone has tried it and it's good!  This one is one I need to try too.

Possum Pie

I thought one of the ingredients was going to be possum!  I was going to send it to my Dad.  He'll eat anything.  I think that's why his nickname is Possum.  If there is something more gross that possums do, I don't want to know about it.
