It probably occured from someone doing some oil drilling!  Sorry, I just couldn't help it given the very heated debates going on on this site recently.

I tape all the ocean-related specials they have on national geographic and the learning channel and all that, and about a year ago they had a special on the arctic seas and they showed these chimneys and the life forms they support.  VERYinteresting!!

I'll see if I still have it saved and if so I'll post the name of the show.

 I wonder if things like this could have anything to do with melting polar ice caps.
Nawwww, I doubt boiling hot water can melt ice, it must be global warming (aka CO2 plant food) doing it.
