Cool little topic on how fish shops in Hong Kong look. Little bit of everything really.

I'll try to update this often as I see new topics on the various forums I visit. If anyone else runs across a topic on other fish stores in different countries, post them up! Always neat to see how the hobby changes from country to country.

You'll find that a lot in the Asian countries it seems. I've seem photos of German stores and they are similarly stocked to US "standards". If anyone has some UK fish stores pics that'd be awesome! Never seen those.

You know it is popular when they don't have a fish store here and there, but entire streets dedicated to JUST the hobby!

I'm trying to find it again but someone went to a street fish store market someplace in China. They had Bettas by the bag. Now when I say by the bag, I don't mean a couple. Someone was able to translate the sign (they basically nail the bags to a board) and it said either 50 or 100 Bettas for whatever the price was, a couple US dollars. Fish are so cheap over there people can afford to buy them by the bag.

Same with the marine fish. They don't have to be bagged up in Fiji, sent this insanely long plane ride to LA, acclimated, shipped on a plane again, and then are finally ready for sale. It's just a hop and skip to the fish stores there.

An example, Gem Tangs run about $600-$900 in Germany, here they are $3,000+.

Looks like several of the tanks are ADA rimless tanks.  I saw the sticker in the storefront window.  Very pricey in the USA.  I have a ~4 1/2 gallon tank (45F) and it cost me $70 plus $30 shipping.  I'll bet they are much cheaper in Hong Kong.

The live plant displays are incredible!
