Ok im having a bit of a problem. My 55g planted is causing me some issues. The problem is the water is VERY hard by FW standards. PH is Steady at 8.4. Which is playing hell on Most plants i have tried. I have 2 that are doing well (no clue what they are) and Java moss Does well BUT most everything else dies pretty quick. I had to move the Java Fern that burks sent me because it was starting to die off. Or at least turning brown. Does anyone know some different plants that do well in hard water/high Ph?

I have hard water also, but we have a water softener and my pH is about 7.6 - 7.8. I've seen things like peat that can be added to your HOB filter that is supposed to lower pH.

Guess its a tougher question than i thought! Farmer Todd? Burks? King Diamond? Susan? Anyone? Java Fern is out it almost died! I have a type of Sword that seems to be doing well and the Java Moss doesnt seem to be dieing. But thats 2 plants not much of a planted tank with 2 plants!

I'm sorry, I don't know. My advice is to get more sword plants if they do well for you.
It's difficult to make hard water soft. If you know someone with softer water, you could get some and mix it with your water to dilute it and see if that helps.
Farmertodd's out of town for a while. Not sure when he's coming back. Burks is more of an expert than me. I learned enough to grow plants in my water. Have you tried googling "hard water aquarium plants"?
