HUGE PLANT SHIPMENT IN 07/11/08

Crinium Calastratum

Vallisneria Nana  Vallisneria nana is a newer addition to the aquarium plant industry. It originates from Australia and grows easily in a typical aquarium.  Vallisneria nana has very thin leaves and stays shorter than other varieties.  This aquarium plant also tolerates lower levels of light and is an excellent variety to try.

Hygro. Kompakt Hygrophila corymbosa 'Kompakt' is a great aquarium plant selection.  It is a low growing form of Hygrophila corymbosa that has reddish newer leaves under bright light.  It also is a very dense growing plant that forms sideshoots readily to make an attractive cluster.  This is a great plant best suited for the foreground or midground areas of a planted aquarium

Me too!  I was in there today when Matt was unpacking them and I couldn't stay to look!  All three of my boys were in the van waiting for me, all tired and hot, and I didn't dare wander around looking at stuff.  Oh, well, I'll have to go back.

Awww, the boys don't understand!  I'll go back with you!  I can window shop and make lists of what I want to add when I can. I need to get more frozen food anyhow.

Matt- don't think we won't see you hiding under the counter when you see us coming in together!

By the way, Matt recommendd the Hikari food(bloodworms and mysiss shrimp) and  DANG!   I can totally see a visible difference in my fish. My black/silver gups -the black on them looks like velvet now, seriously. And the tails have more colors.  The colors on everybody are so much more vivid!  The tails on the gups are better than they have ever been.  Ok, some of the tail fullness might be in part due to putting the bully dwarf guraumi in solitary confinement, but the color thing is startling.

And that's with feeding the tropicals just a teensy bit of the frozen stuff and keeping them mostly on flake food!  It's like the difference between feeding my dogs grain based foods vs. meat based.  The coats(scales) just glow like I polished them.

I'll call you and see if you can go next time I go.  Donovan loves to go in there.  He's entertaining - you never know what will come out of his mouth.  The only problem is he wants to run around and we can't have that.

Hikari is one of my fishes' favorite brands of foods.  I've started buying the frozen stuff in the great big flat packs so it lasts longer.  They love the algae wafers, too.  I break them up and spread them around.  I've even seen the madtoms eating them.

I've gotten so I buy almost all of my fish food at Trilby's.  They have the best!

Just so everyone knows, I don't hide behind the checkout. I head straight for the office.

We like the "good stuff", that's what we feed here. All Foods are NOT created Equal, that's for sure. I'm Happy that You're Happy with the foods.

If there's something that we don't have that you're looking for, let us know, we are planning on adding more products in the shop within the next few weeks. I'll see if it's available. (Fresh or Saltwater)

Live foods.    I'm too lazy to keep cultures alive.  They don't give me feedback like my fish do.

I just went and bought some mealworms & pinhead crickets to see what will eat them.  I've been feeding mealworms to my longear sunfish - he loves them.  I fed him so many last night, he couldn't get the last one down and wouldn't give up!  It was hilarious.  I thought he'd get full and there would be some left for the madtoms, but he wouldn't quit eating them.  I found some small mealworms today.  I'm hoping that my grass pickerel will like the crickets.
