Ok so now that my tank is up and has been running and params are good i have started to run the lights on the timer well now i have brown algea growing on everything is this good bad or just a pain to deal with any thoughts

Sounds like diatoms, normal part of a tank's life cycle. Hermits do a decent job of cleaning it up (as well as other nasties). It should run its course in due time. I think mine lasted about 2 weeks to fully clear up.
