Would anyone recommend a replacement bulb for my MH's from this page. I have soft corals and live rock that seem to be at a stand still for growth. What "K" Value is best

Thanks for any input.

what are you already using, 10,14, 20?  I would personally go with a 14 for a nice balance.  20k usually seems too blue and only needed for sps.  Also 150 isnt really that strong to encourage much growth, but they are softies which wouldnt tolerate much higher imo, so you might be at a stalemate.  What softies are you trying to grow?

I'm not sure what K value is currently in place now I bought these second hand. It is a pair of 150's also have 2 54 watt T-5's antinics for a total of 405 watts. I have Zoas, recordias and mushrooms.

Sorry for the spelling. Never a strong point.

The Phoenix 14k's are pretty darn blue, just to let you know. I'm using the 250w version and it is as blue as a Coralife 20k.

For a 150W bulb I would go with 10,000K temperature or 65,000K temperature. The higher Kelvin bulbs at lower wattage seem very dim. For me, I like 10,000K crisp white bulb. Different brand bulbs give off different amount of blue hue in their illumination. Usually, you can find the "color" of 10,000K bulb you are getting in the description. I know on the Champion lighting Supply web site it give a description.

I am a big fan of the XM bulbs, I only use the 10,000 k.  Like Brad, I like the crispness that temp produces.  I don't have any 150 watt sources though only 250 and 400.  But for the money, hard to beat the XM product.
