Last night my Bangaii started spitting out baby after baby starting at around 7pm.  As he spit them out I was waiting with a small net to net them up and move them into the 10 gallon tank.  By midnight last night I had collected 20 babies, 4 of them I missed netting and went into hiding in my 40 gallon breeder and he still had a bunch in his mouth.  I'll have to see how many I can rescue tonight if any of the left overs that I missed.

When he spitted them out the would immediately head towards the top of the tank where they would float in the current for a min or two trying to get orintated and I would have the net right there in the current so they would float into the net.  It was a nice little operation.

On a side note if anyone is interested in two bangaii born in January of this year who are healthy and eatting frozen foods please let me know.  They are also in the 10 gallon with the rest of the 20 babies I caught last night and I don't want them pushing the other small ones around competing for food.  Either that or I'm going to have to setup yet another tank...

How can they creep you out, They're so cute!!!

Temperment is non-aggressive towards other fish, they are generally a shy fish.  If you have two adult bangaii's in a small tank with the same sex they will more inlikely battle to the death.  So you should only keep a male and female together in smaller confinements.  Or have a bigger tank to keep multiples.

Diet,  They eat any kind of frozen food, Adult Enriched Brine Shimp, Mysid, Baby Brine, Cyclopleeze.  As thats what I feed all my fish.  I've never fed my tank flake food so I'm not sure if they would eat that or not.  I have some laying around I could try and let you know.

They are a Marine (Saltwater) Fish.  The adults get to 1.5 inches in lenght, and they are an endangered speices.

They are easy to care for as well and being tank raised much hardier then their wild caught counterparts.  These babies are 3rd generation tank raised fish.

If you ever get into saltwater they are a perfect starter fish for a saltwater tank.  Very easy to care for.  And I have an over abundance of these guys since I get new ones being born every month.  I'll get some picks of my babies posted to the site tonight when I get home.  They hang out in groups of 6 in different sections of my tank.

Ohhh!  I really like Bangaii, they are one of my favorites.  It's encouragng to learn they are a good beginner fish, because if I ever go marine I want some of these.
