My sister finally got some tadpoles for her classroom, and they are not turning out as advertised. She ordered bullfrogs, but suspects these are not.
She asked me to ask around, because she knows that to care for them properly she has to figure out what kind they are, and she just can't figure it out. I'll paste what she said below, as well as the pix she sent.
Thanks for any help or directions you can point us!
From my Sis:
Tadpole is exactly 3 inches long... both tadpoles were the same, so that little frog came from a big tadpole. Frog spends it's time in a plant with it's head out of the water, or way out of the water high up in the plant (half on the plant, half on the lid of their cage/home).
I thought they were supposed to be bullfrogs, but it doesn't look like pictures I looked up (or real live bullfrogs I've seen) but I wonder if that's because it's just a baby. It's just finishing it's metamorphosis now.

She said you CAN'T eat them because she needs to keep them alive so hopefully they will lay eggs and next year so she will have tadpoles for her classroom.

as for feeding that is easy. Crickets, mealworms,Red worms, Small night crawlers. Also i would get the reptile dust(you dust the crickets and it adds calicum to thier diet) when they are big enough you can provide a great food soruce just buy 7 Female mice and 1 male Mouse put them in together and BOOM instant babys and a GREAT food source! i had a toad that would eat up to 15 pinkies(baby mice) in one setting! and bullfrogs get bigger than my bufu toad did!!! i highly suggest raising mice to feed them a full grown bullfrog will eat full grown mice given the chance(in the wild they eat whatever they can catch includeing small snakes) But Pinkie mice are by far the best food source(especially when they have a belly full of milk)

My sister's reply to Vance's info(keep in mind my sister bow hunts, and has a great sense of humor):
from Sheila:
I never knew bullfrogs were so scary! I thought they just ate bugs! Yeesh! What will I tell my preschoolers?! "Sorry kids, the frog ate the class hamster..." (Just kidding... we don't have a hamster).
