I picked up a Berlin Turbo Classic Skimmer today for pretty cheap it had no pump so i had to use the Rio 1700 i had here i also have a bigger pump but my problem is the sme with either pump i can not get the air into the skimmer i know there is a air inlet that has some type of fitting on it does anyone have one of these that can help me out here a bit

I have one as well.

I just use a piece of airline on the inlet for the air. Works well for me, a bit noisy but oh well. It works

For mine I'm running a Rio 2500 which seems to be just about the right flow. I've seen them sold on websites with the 2500 included.

You are talking about the inlet right at the bottom of the main water inlet right is there a special adaptor you need to connect there i have a rio 2100 as my return i could take that one and put in one of my other 2 pumps for the return pump

Thanks Burks if you could get me a pic it would help thanks

Edit:

I think I might know what you mean. Are you missing the part I circled in red or another piece? If it is I'll see if I can't find something to help you.

The Andersons has a very nice selection of threaded hose barbs.

9 out of 10 voices in my head told me to do it.

I was just about to post a new thread, but i saw this one was up.  I have the same berlin classic turbo and it came with the red sea pump which is now dead.  Any ideas for a good replacement? Its a 90 gallon tank with 29 gallon sump.

Here is the instruction manual for those of us unlucky enough to receive one (which seems to be all three of us, lol): www.customaquatic.com/customaquatic/manuels/berlin.pdf

The Classic model they recommend 500gph or 2000lph. I'm using a Rio 2500 on mine because that's all that I could get my hands on right away. A tad overkill but it gets the job done. I will be probably replacing it with a Rio 2100 and moving the 2500 over to my spraybar.

Water out through the fitting? Wow....I am totally lost on that one! What size pump is on there now? If the flow isn't enough it won't drive the venturi, which might pump water instead of suck air.
