Here is my 7 gallon low-tech tank. Plants are rotala indica, red ludwigia, contortion val, compact hygro, marsilea minuta, downoi, dwarf sag, guppy grass & fava moss. Inhabitants are 20+ yellow shrimp. Don't mind the computer screen in the background :)

This is my 10 gallon cherry shrimp & spixi snail tank. This tank is in the basement, so its just for breeding purposes, not for looks. It just has some guppy grass, riccia, & java moss.

And this is another tank in the basement, my 5.5 gallon that is currently housing 6 endlers. It just has guppy grass & java moss.

I've also got a 45 gallon that is waiting on the funds to be drilled, and then it will be a saltwater tank. And a 29 gallon that is waiting on the funds to buy a pair of dwarf orange crays, and then the endlers will move to that tank. This hobby is a little expensive

Where did you get the driftwood Morgan? Did you treat it before you put it in the tank or did you plop it right in?

I love that little Bow tank. The more and more I see planted tanks the more I think I am going to go in that direction when I get back into the hobby. The startup costs are probably similar to reef (Lights and CO2 system), but the plants and fish are much cheaper.
Even at 5 or 10 bucks a fish, that is like 1/4 of most saltwater fish.

I got the driftwood from Trilby's actually, and for a long time I had it laying flat, with an anubias tucked into the hole in it. I was messing around with it one day and got it to stand like this, and I really like it. I didn't soak it or anything.
This tank is actually an all-in-one tank, and I haven't had to upgrade anything. It came with a 14 watt stock light, and I've just chosen my plants carefully. I don't dose c02, and I very rarely have to do anything other than top-offs when the water gets too low. I would definitely recommend this tank to anyone looking for a nice, small planted tank. I don't think Mini-Bow makes them anymore though, so I'm not sure if you will be able to find one. I think I paid about $60-$70 for it at Petco, in December of 2006.

Thanks :) I'm not quite sure if I like the compact hygro yet or not, I may have to move it around a little bit. I took out the downoi and blyxa today becaue they weren't doing too hot, and I added some green hygro, marsilea quadrifolia, glosso and some more dwarf sag. I'll post an updated pic soon.

Have you had the Glosso long enough to tell how well it is doing? Been wanting to try it myself after my failure with Hemianthus micranthemoides.
