Great!

Livebearers are fun.  Even though I'm old I still love to see the little fry!

We're not that far from Detroit, which is livebearer central, it seems. Jim Langhammer is involved in several of the clubs, and he's a major expert and author on them. And there are a bunch of major guppy breeders up there. The auctions always have lots of livebearers, including weird ones nobody has ever heard of.

my other female finally had hers about 8....5 had lived for the day then all died...i think they were a bit deformed and born early or late...there stomachs were like a giant bubble

the other 7 babys are still alive though even though some have deformed spines and are healthy...i will post some pics when i clean my tank out and get them into a larger tank

well congrats on the breeding.

now i'm by no means a livebearer expert and i may be wrong on this one. but i do know with egg layers a lot of the time it's better to get the males and females from different sources to eliminate the chance of inbreeding. considering that you said they were all deformed i just thought i'd throw that out as a possibility. gl in the future either way.

Congratulations!

We need to set up a time to get you some of my guppies before they get crossed with the Endlers.  I've got at least 5 fry you can have(possibly more if I can catch 'em)

It’s very unusual for a guppy female to deliver seven babies. I’m assuming mother delivered much more in the prolong period of time and they were consumed as a delicacy by another fish including mother. Cannibalism is very common among guppies. In case of your guppies the way they were breed before and not enough protein in their diet, can lead unfortunately to infertility. So if you will see more eggs instead babies, there is a time to learn more about systems of breeding
