After many delays, both due to me and due to forces outside of my control, my coral vat has arrived. It's not pretty, nor is it expensive. But it will do the job just fine.
It's made out of wood with a pond liner. Ghetto? Oh yeah. Cheap? You bet your butt!
Dimensions - 48Lx30Wx12H - Call it 75 gallons
Lighting - Currently just a 250w MH with 14k Phoenix bulb (very bright, pretty darn blue). Has a great par value for being a 14k.
Flow - Just a Rio 1100 with a spray bar. Will be upgrading to a larger Rio in the next week or so when the tank settles. Might still do the air driven lift tubes. Will check that out if the pump ever gets here (thank you Sunlight Supply...)
Pretty much it so far. Tank will be mainly used for softies with some LPS here and there (I'm a HUGE Favia fan). Liner will be here tomorrow along with enough used tank water to fill the vat and some really mature live rock. This week I'll be going to get 50lbs of dry and 50lbs of live sand from a guy in Haskins (you can find him on eBay).
Should be a fun time. I'll try to keep this updated as possible. Pictures tomorrow, I forgot my camera at someone's house.

Good to hear! I was kind of worried but his feedback was all super positive. Nice to see someone local on board.

If your tank is ghetto then i have a "Project"
i love my 2 4' x 4' x 1' coral tanks and my 6' x 4' x 2' chaeto tank. i recommend the thickest liner you can buy as one of my liners ( wal mart pond) was wrecked within a week.

Mine isn't thick but the material is super tough. Same as Nicole had in her tank.

It is 45 mil and I will find out where it was ordered from. Richard got it for me.
Tough little liner I will say. My rock will be on egg crate in the middle of the vat to prevent accidental puncture that way. Also, no sharp instruments of coral destruction will be allowed even in the room. I'll do my fragging else where just to prevent accidents.
