after having my male for 19days and having him with my female for about a week i've got eggs. still debating whether or not to pull the fish once the eggs are fertilized. any input on that anyone?

either way i'm pretty happy, and the fish look great. the male is a deep copper/bronze with purple and blue fins.

his fish gave him some eggs for easter egg hunting.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

I'd keep them with the parents to see if they are good egg tenders. If they are, you can keep the fry with the parents. After all, they've been doing it this way without our help for hundreds of years!

thanks weimers but i think i'm gonna take em out because this is their first time and they are known egg eaters the first few times out. also with my overflow and crazy fish on the other side of the divider i'm sure they'd pretty much all be wiped out. so once my 40g water is right again i'm gonna but the egg pot in there and hope for the best.

oh and eric they're in my 125g still.

Good idea:) Not sure if you've raised eggs before, so if you have ignore the rest of this post;)

Just be sure to put an airstone below the eggs so they are in constant movement, if they turn white they're dead.

I will trade you my set of pink convict fry and black convict fry for some babies once you have them, and i mean all of them. The term breeding like rabbits doesn't make sense anymore it should be breeding like 2 to 3 inch convicts.
