I'm not ready to get them yet, but when I sort how what is going into which tanks, and get everything up and running, I am going to want black lace veils. I figured I'd start asking questions now.
I got them before at Trilby I believe- -but I've found that true black, true lace veils are not that easy to find. I like them best as dark as I can find them with as much fin as possible.
Anybody got suggestions for sources? Would my best bet be having one of our stores special order some? Or do we have any breeders that are local? I'd take marble lace veils too, but have a thing for the black. The ones I lost were gorgeous, with lovely highlights of that blue-black irridescence.
I'd like to get them small to start, not looking for big guys- I enjoy watching them grow. Also, if anyone has good resource sites for Angels, I'd love links. I've had great luck with them in the past, but it was just that, luck. I'd like to have an actual clue going forward.

Your best bet is probably www.aquabid.com, I've seen some nice looking angels there.
Edited to add: And if you didn't know that Aquabid existed, I apologize because it is addicting!!!!

For the absolute, mega primo, ne plus ultra of angelfish, it's Angels Plus.
He crosses back with wild angels, so his fish don't have a lot of the defects that come from too much inbreeding. And they are stunning! He sometimes takes fish to the big cichlid conventions, and the last Detroit auction I went to had some fish that were an F1 generation from his fish.
He breeds other fish, including guppies. Check out his articles!
The fish he has available varies from time to time. When shipping weather comes around, I might be interested in doing a combo order from him.

Thanks for the excellent sites Ciclid and Coupe! I've been all over both of them and have them saved.
I found EXACTLY what I am looking for at AngelPlus-- the one pic he has of an adult male black lace looks like it could have been one of mine- same type of lacing in the fins/tail, same velvety black with a hint of blue-black highlights... I am going to have to wait to get these guys until I have a quarantine tank available & can make sure the ph and whatnot is where it needs to be for these guys, and until I get a new heater(I think the one I have is losing it, and my backup isn't large enough for the tank). I lost my breeding pair to a heater quitting in the winter, and I don't want it to happen again!.
But bottom line is HECK yeah I'll want to order from this guy!!
