Thanks Matt. The light was a bear to assembly the legs on. Trying to get the side plate off to slide the legs on I stripped a screw because it was like superman tight. Took me about 30 mins in all to get the legs on and figure out where to place them so it would stand securely on the tank. That light is heavy. I thought most of that weight in that box was going to just be the ballast but it was really the light bar. Much bigger and heavier then what I was use to with my old Coralife PCs. I'm going to let the lights run through a complete cycle today hoping that everything will work great. Lights should be on when I get home I set my cycle from 11am - 9pm Total with Blues, and Days. The moonlights alone on that tank could be almost bright enought to be days on certain spots. I'm going to have to be careful of that.
Sweet light! Whats the kelvin rating on your halide? Maybe you could put a screen or filter over the moonlight if its too bright. Or did it come with an electronic ballast? Can you adjust the juice just to the moonlights?

10000K Double-ended HQI metal halide lamps are plugged into the ballast everything else is just plugged in normally. There is no where to adjust the juice.

No disaster yet and I dipped my finger in the tank last night and felt it was pretty stable and I put two small frags of Zoa's in there mainly because my clownfish had beaten them up in the other tank and burried them in the substrate. So if they survive I think my 40 is ready!
I'm going to test my parameters on saturday morning for an official reading to see if I can start hoping around to all the different local fish stores this weekend picking up some decent coral pieces!

But if they die, won't they poison your tank?

Its in a 40 gallon breeder each the Zoa's are the only thing in the tank at the moment and they are pretty much already dead. Hopefully they will come back. If they do die they won't poison my tank as bad as it would be if it was a complete colony. There are only 4 heads of Zoa on one rock and 2 heads of Zoa left on the other rock. So I'm not that concerned. I'm going to do a water change on the 40 this weekend if everything checks out on the parameter side.
I'll try to save some for yea kevin!
