Is the male bangaii still in the main tank, or did you seperate him?  It is much easier to put him in a seperate tank, but trying to catch him might make him spit.  Here's a link from someone on another forum that just got their first batch of baby bangaiis, its kind of neat http://www.myfishtank.net/forum/saltwater-general-discussion/49572-lots-baby-bangaii-cardinals.html

Morgan ;) Lots of invert tanks!

The male was still in the main tank.  I haven't gotten around to setting up a third tank yet for the babies or seperating the male. I was working on building my own urchin that he would spit the babies into for protection.

I've been hanging out on MOFIB's site since this years breeding challenge is the Banggaii's.  So I'm trying to get my to breed first and then work on the more complicated experiment to creating an incubator where you force the male to spit and then incubate them on their own.

The work I do with my Banggai's I'll try to write up and document everything and see if I can reproduce it when I have some new Broods.

No I was very busy this weekend.  I was running all around Michigan with a realtor looking at houses and then TRAC meeting, Bowling League, and then on Sunday went and looked at more houses and it was my Girlfriends birthday so her family came up in the afternoon.  Then I've been busy working late at work since we were doing a product release, and when I get home I just want to crash.  I'll try to get some up soon.

If he's not coming out to eat thats usually a sure sign he's carrying eggs.  If you can see him you'll notice that his cheeks will be swollen and throat will be  sticking out.  You should start getting an urchin in that tank or a fake one for him to spit the babies into.  I've read in some instances if they can't find a place to spit the babies the male will hold onto them longer then necessary which could lead to starvation of your male.

Thanks,  I've fragged that monti twice in the last six months breaking chunks off of it for people.  And its grown back to its normal shape each time.  Its almost time for me to chop it again.

Update on my Bangaii Breeding.  My first attempt my Bangaii male dumped the eggs.  Didn't carry them to full term.

Luckily he's got another shot.  He's currently got a mouth full of eggs.  Day one was on Yesterday.
