Will do.  Right now my approach is to start working on my brine hatchery and trying to produce a few good batches and then build a make shift sea urchant so the babies can take shelter in it and feed them serveral times a day.

I'll try to document as much as I can right now everything is looking good on Day 2.

Congrats Scott!

Any idea on what you will be making their hibing place out of?

This is the method I'm going to try this is what someone posted on another site:

Artificial “urchins” can be made using 1-1/2-inch or 2-inch PVC pipe caps and solid plastic wire. Fifty to seventy holes are drilled in the top of a cap and a six to eight-inch piece of plastic wire is inserted into each hole and secured with a dab of hot glue inside the cap. A comparison of an artificial sea urchin and one that occurs in Hawai‘i is presented in Fig. 5. Alternatively, plastic weed-whacker line can replace the plastic wire. It has been found that the weed-whacker line is a little more flexible and the “spines” stick out better. When using this type of material, cut the line twice as long as the desired length of a spine. Thread the line down one hole, and back up another hole. In that way there is no need for glue to hold it in place. One disadvantage and this is only from an aesthetic point of view is that the weed-whacker line currently is not produced in a black color. At any rate, this does not seem to bother the juveniles with regard to using the artificial urchin as a shelter.

You guys know how great I am at making my own things, so you know it will look awesome like my tank stand I built!

Great job Scott. Is this your first breeding with these guys? I thought you had done so once before

This is my first attempt at breeding Bangaii's.  I've attempted clownfish and failed to keep any of the young alive.  Hopefully Bangaii's will be better for me since their mouthbreeders and suppose to be one of the easies marine fish to breed.

You suck Scott.

9 out of 10 voices in my head told me to do it.

Sorry Doug....  Hows your tank doing or not doing since you've been babysitting all your kids?  I'll teach you the ways of my success.  I hoping that the brood will survive and I can take the brood out and place them in another tank and repeat my process.

Scott, keep us posted.

We need to set up the breeding programs, and hook Scott up with some points

Scott would you happen to have a picture that shows the relative size of the parents or something that you can compare them to?

My Banggaii parents are about an inch and a half too 2 inches.  I was going to take some pictures this weekend but unfortunetly on saturday the male either ate the eggs in his mouth or spit them out somewhere.  He's no longer carrying.  I've read that they do this once or twice before being successful.  I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days.
