8" GEO Recirculating Skimmer FOR SALE
Thanks Tim:) As soon as I see it and get more info I'll know what I need. All I know right now is it was freshwater, so I'll be getting anything I can used and set it up in the long run. This will be my biggest tank, so I want to do everything right ...

8" GEO Recirculating Skimmer FOR SALE
If Scott pulls out I may be interested. I just found I'm going to be gifted a 180, and I need to slowly get some equipment for it (it was freshwater). Funny, when I heard I thought of pm'ing you to see what you had laying around:)

WTB Firefish goby
If you're looking for fish have you checked out a goby/shrimp pair? They were my favorite things in my nano. I had a red stripe goby and a candy cane pistol (stays small, doesn't dig big tunnels and stays in one spot).

looking for a 72" metale halide light
It depends what type of coral you want to grow. The number of bulbs depends on the fixture. If you want sps, you'll need at least 8 bulbs.

looking for a 72" metale halide light
You may have more luck looking for a t-5 fixture. I recommend them over halides as they run cooler, are cheaper to run, and you have a lot more options with bulb combinations. If you get good quality bulbs and enough of them, you can grow whatever yo...

Upgrade Woas and the Private Messaging Module
I laughed when you said if you had hair you'ld have pulled it out:)
No problems losing saved ones - I think an upgrade would be worth losing them.
BTW - I like the new layout so far - looks much more "pulled together".

book review especially for new marine but good for all
It's sad that people are still advocating the use of fish for a cycle when its completely unneccesary. I have set up 4 tanks and not one used a live fish for the cycle. A pinch of fish food or a piece of raw shrimp does the same thing. Since its been...

Known Issues with Upgrade
Just an FYI - when you type a post then hover over "Add" or "Cancel" the post disappears. It does post if you click "Add" but at first I though I lost my whole post.
Edit: It didn't do it this time:) It did it twice when I posted (and updated) my po...

Crocea clam bleaching?
I've never bleached a clam but I have bleached sps from them having too much light and it sounds just like that. If its been going on that long he may be too far gone to recover. I would suggest moving him low in the tank in a shaded area until he re...

Aquarium Christmas Gift List...
If santa doesn't get you an ato, buy one for yourself! Seriously one of the best things I bought for my tank. I don't know how I ever did it without one (I'm sure my corals weren't nearly as happy when they were getting weekly top offs).

new bulbs
We're neglecting the par rating. Par is the amount of light the bulb puts out. The higher the par, the more intense the light. ATI and Geisseman bulbs have a much higher par rating (even in actinics) than the oddyssee (sp) ones, which is why you need...

new bulbs
ATI is another great brand. What brand do you have now? If they aren't ati or geisseman, you'll need to add the bulbs slowly. They are so much brighter than the ones that come with most fixtures that you'll bleach your corals.

anybody know what these might be??
Jirons - I had one like yours and I watched it sting a neon goby to death. If I'm looking at the right thing the one in the first pic is a little different.

The one on the right is a blastomussa. I think the one on the left is a scroll coral.
On a side note - corals can be tough to care for - you should always have an idea of what you're buying so you know if you can care for them.
