OT: what to look for when buying a new tv
Same specs with LED Dave. At 60Hz you may get some of the artifacts you don't want, at 120Hz you probably won't be able to see them. At 240 Hz you may or may not be able to tell the picture is better, probably not though due to the way our eyes work....

Personally unless it was a super deal, I'd avoid plasma due to the limited lifetime, and energy usage issues alone. They're still big and clunky compared to new, thin LED standards. If you look at LCDs do some research on backlit vs. edge lit,...
