Test tank for plant propagation
They sell those lamps for raising poultry and all sorts of stuff. Some of them are built a lot more heavily than others. On many of the lights that have a clip, you can take the clip off and use them as a hanging light too.

Starting over
If you've got a clay subsoil underneath your yard, that's probably the best bottom layer. The microscopic particle size of the clay (and not too much organic matter) is probably one of the things that make it work. That's a common thing with the kitt...

OT: school visit with 50+ kindergardeners
We wouldn't have the cuddle factor with most fish, so we'd have to go with a different theme. It would be a lot of fun, though.

Looking for a summer job...
The list of independant stores is a pretty short one. You could also check with the aquaculture center north of BG. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's on route 582- it might be connected with OSU extension. They were going to raise food fish an...

what do you clean tank glass with?
The acid shouldn't bother the silicone or the styrene frames on tanks, right?   muriatic acid is the same as hydrochloric acid, if you saw that in chemistry class ptcl.chem.ox.ac.uk/~hmc/hsci/chemicals/hydrochloric_acid.html

Toast Net
Why I mention it is that we're finally looking at signing up for DSL, and TN is one of the few that's available at this address and is relatively inexpensive. They give a referral credit, which I figure a TRAC member might at well get. (RJ doesn't su...

hey freshwater keepers
Interesting choice of fish- the australe is the only one that's really directly colorful. A heavily planted FW tank probably looks more "restful" to many people- green plants being very easy on the eyes.
