Cabinet making woe's
If I could design a guard for a table saw that was not the first thing taken off a new one I would, without question, have enough $$ to have RJS build me a cabinet for my new wall sized reef tank.

schambers said :  I've been to Maumee Tackle a couple of times, but they are always closed.  I don't know what's up with that.  I think they go on vacation, but when do they get back? According to thier fishing report they were supposed to be ba...

So what does it take to build a Quality Stand & Canopy
A build like that would take most of us $500 in materials, 200hrs of labor and $1000 or more in tools.  And thats not counting the skill and experience it takes to build one.

Use for Mayflies
My oscar went nuts over them.  When the furnace in the house died when I was on vacation one spring his tank got down into the 50's.  He did not eat for almost two months until I tried feeding him mayflies. He went nuts over them for two weeks and wa...

Freshwater LED tank update
Sooner or later I will get around to doing a complete build thread but for now here is a display of what a few(6) LED's can do for a planted tank.  I have added a DIY sugar water CO2 injector in the last month or so.  Have some algae issues but I sti...

LED lighting project
Yeah the dimming part is pretty sweet.  It is real important on my little SW setup to get the color right.  I have the FW lights running about 75% to keep the  heatsink temp down. I will put a price list together when I get a chance.  I actually mad...

LED lighting project
I am jumping head first into the world of LED lighting.  I am not sure why I went this direction other than I think that the technology is neat.  For my purposes its not cheap, it's not efficient, its not really all that sensible....but it's cool. I...

choice of lights
LED's are pretty sweet.  I am researching building my own LED system for either my 10 gal reef or one of my planted FW tanks.  They are not cheap, but the thought of not changing a bulb for the next ten years seems kind of nice.  Really I just think ...

Newbie with a winter project tank
Hi back pundam.  I am really a freshie too but after I lost my oscar I had for almost 13 years I decided to go a different direction.  The furnace died (no heater) when I was on vacation and he never really recovered.  He broke so many heaters I just...

Newbie with a winter project tank
Yeah I was trying to get away without a heater but the tank is in my basement workshop and I just can't get it above 74.   I have had a few bad experiences with heaters so I avoid them if possible.   The worst was a heater that got stuck on and...
