Welcome to the forum! Some cichlids dig and/or eat plants. You'll want to know beforehand if yours are prone to do that, so you don't waste your time planting their tank.
You will already know if they like to dig. If they only dig and don't eat ...

Yeah, I've been looking at them, and I'm sure they are Johnny Darters. Sigh. I have an appointment with the eye doctor next month, maybe that'll help.

Is Petco doing there $1 per gallon sale
They sell tanks for $1 a gallon. A 20 gallon tank = $20, a 29 gallon tank = $29. You get the idea. I remember it's for in-stock tanks, and maybe only up to a certain size.
